The active power algorithm of ADE7763 is implemented in such a way that it looks at the time domain samples of V and I in a coherent manner. So, the phase information is taken into account while computing active power without needing to compute PF first. But in the application, the PF value can be computed in the way that you specify using the energy values read from ADE7763.
