Tips on interfacing OVM7692 to ADV7391

I have a customer that wants to convert the output of the OVM7692-RAAA (http://www.ovt.com/download_document.php?type=sensor&sensorid=46) to composite video.  He thinks the ADV7391 would be excellent for this task.  See block diagram attached.

His hardware is complete, but he is having trouble with the interface between the 2 parts.  Below is his correspondence with me.  Any suggestions?

I finally finished the design which uses the ADV7391BCPZ interfaced with the OVM7692-RAAA.  From the surface it looks pretty good, but I have tried multiple settings on both devices and I don’t seem to be having a lot of luck.

What I have been able to do:

On the ADV7391, I am able to set things up with a CVBS (composite video) output, and I am able to properly setup and see the color bar test pattern on the LCD screen we are using.  So I know the ADV7391 can work that far.

I also know that I’m talking correctly to the camera. Some of the settings between the two devices seemed to produce some variations of different garbage on the screen, but I can’t seem to identify the right settings between the two devices to make things work.  I’m also trying to use the color bar test pattern from the camera side, but the two devices are not interfaced properly yet.  So I have been able achieve the color bar from the ADV7391 to the LCD, but I have not been able to achieve the color bar from the image sensor all the way to the LCD yet.

Of course, I haven’t invested a whole lot of time into trying.  But I have quickly tried a fair number of combinations to no avail.
