Hello again,
I measured the phase noise at the Tx output as you suggested, with internal and external Tx LO - in both cases the phase noise was ~-116dBc/Hz at 5-20MHz offsets (the test was done with Tx output frequency of 2200MHz). Does this number make any sense?
Regarding the receiver chain performance and ADC dynamic range - let's take the case of a weak desired signal (-95dBm) and a strong interfering signal (-46dBm) at 10MHz offset. Given the BW of 3MHz of the analog 4-pole filters (1-pole first filter and 3-pole second filter), the interfering signal at 10MHz should be attenuated by ~42-dB, along with gain of ~70dB at full gain setting should give us level of -18dBm at the ADC input. If we take into considerations that some parts of the receiver chain will be definitely compressed at this level, then the actual signal that will reach the ADC will be in the order of -25~-30dBm, which would present problems with the dynamic range of the ADC, as you suggested.
Am I making any sense with these calculations ? :-)
