ADN25XX: Minimum Input Frequency & Single-Ended operation

Dear all,

I am looking for a laser driver with a single-ended Vpp of approx. 2V (differential Vpp = 4V) which can be feed with an input frequency down to 1MHz and features Cross-Point-Adjustment (CPA). In the final application (which has nothing to do with a laser), I only need to drive a 50Ohm-single ended line.

I found the ADN2526, ADN2530 & and ADN2531, which might be the right choice. However, before I start a design, I would like the following points to be discussed:

1.     The data sheets do not mention the lowest possible input data rate. Can I use an input signal of only 1MHz?

2.     In contrast to other laser drivers, the output is given as a current, instead of a voltage. So if I have a 50Ohm differential line connected to the ADN2526-outputs, and drive it with the maximum differential current of 80mA, would I get a voltage across the differential pair of 4V?

3.     Would the driver still work, If I connect a 50Ohm single-ended line to the positive output (IMODP) of the ADN2526, and short the negative output (IMODN) via a capacitor to GND? How large would the Vpp-voltage drop bet at the output: 4V or 2V?

Thank you in advance

Thorsten
