Re: Query about ADF4159 Sweep Glitch

Hi, rbrennan

I have further information to clarify my response.

I tried the suggestions (I’d already tried 2 out of 3 of them) and they did not fix the problem.

Is this another signal on your board that is happening at the same time as the glitches? They look like they could be crosstalk/interference.

This cannot be the case, because if I reduce the sweep from say 100 MHz to 25 MHz (1/4 the frequency range) with the same sweep duration, I get one glitch instead of 4.

Also, if I change the range of the sweep, the glitches are at the same voltage points which correspond to the same frequencies.

Therefore the glitch is happening at specific frequencies, not at specific times.

The only related issue I can think of is:

Is it possible that the leakage from the reference source (100 MHz oscillator) is getting into the RF input and causing this issue? Could it be a reference quality/power issue?

thanks!

Br,

Wayne
